South Korea is a country in East Asia on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula, characterized by mountainous terrain, river valleys, and coastlines along the Yellow Sea, the Sea of Japan, and the East China Sea.

📍 South Korea is a country located in East Asia, occupying the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. It is bordered by North Korea to the north and is otherwise surrounded by water, with coastlines along the Yellow Sea to the west, the Sea of Japan (East Sea) to the east, and the East China Sea to the south.
South Korea’s terrain is largely mountainous, with hills and ranges covering much of the country, while coastal plains and river valleys support most of the population and agriculture. The country also includes numerous islands along its southern and western coasts.
South Korea’s location on the Korean Peninsula has historically made it a crossroads of cultural and political interaction between China, Japan, and the wider region.
