Regions

Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa characterized by vast desert landscapes of the Sahara in the north, the Niger River valley, and savanna regions in the south.

📍 Mali is a landlocked country located in West Africa, positioned deep within the interior of the continent and extending into the Sahara Desert. It is bordered by Algeria to the north, Niger to the east, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast to the south, Guinea to the southwest, and Senegal and Mauritania to the west.
Mali’s landscape is dominated by desert in the north as part of the Sahara Desert, transitioning into the semi-arid Sahel region in the center and more fertile savanna in the south. The Niger River flows through the country, providing a vital source of water for agriculture, transportation, and settlement.
Mali’s location has historically made it a key center of trans-Saharan trade and ancient empires, linking West Africa with North Africa and beyond.
