Regions

Niger is a landlocked country in West Africa characterized by vast desert landscapes of the Sahara in the north, semi-arid Sahel regions in the center, and the Niger River flowing through its southwestern part.

📍 Niger is a landlocked country located in West Africa, positioned in the interior of the continent and extending into the Sahara Desert. It is bordered by Algeria and Libya to the north, Chad to the east, Nigeria and Benin to the south, and Burkina Faso and Mali to the west.
Niger’s landscape is dominated by desert in the north as part of the Sahara Desert, with the central region consisting of semi-arid Sahel terrain and the southern areas being more fertile. The Niger River flows through the southwestern part of the country, providing an essential water source for agriculture and settlements.
Niger’s location has historically made it part of trans-Saharan trade routes, linking West Africa with North Africa, while its climate and geography have strongly influenced its population distribution and economy.
