Regions

Mauritania is a country in northwest Africa characterized by vast Sahara Desert landscapes, sandy plains, rocky plateaus, and a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean.

📍 Mauritania is a country located in West Africa, positioned along the Atlantic coast and extending deep into the Sahara Desert. It is bordered by Western Sahara and Algeria to the north, Mali to the east and southeast, and Senegal to the southwest, with a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Mauritania’s landscape is dominated by the Sahara Desert, with vast stretches of sand dunes, rocky plateaus, and arid plains. The southern part of the country, near the Senegal River, is more suitable for agriculture and settlement. Its location has historically made it part of trans-Saharan trade routes connecting North and West Africa, shaping its cultural and economic development.
