It is bordered by Namibia to the south, Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north and northeast, and Zambia to the east, while the Atlantic Ocean lies to the west. Angola also has a small northern exclave called Cabinda, which is separated from the rest of the country by a narrow strip of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
