Eastern Europe
Eastern Europe
Also known as:
Eastern Europe is a subregion of Europe located in the eastern part of the continent, characterized by vast plains, continental climates, and a rich mix of cultures shaped by centuries of empires and political change. Its landscapes include broad lowlands, forested regions, and mountain ranges such as the Carpathians. The region includes countries such as Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary, as well as parts of the broader eastern sphere including Belarus and western regions of Russia. Eastern Europe has been shaped by historical influences from the Byzantine, Ottoman, and Soviet spheres, and remains a region of cultural diversity and ongoing economic and political development within Europe.
