Jersey is a British Crown Dependency in the English Channel characterized by rocky coastlines, sandy bays, rolling countryside, and mild maritime landscapes.

📍 Jersey is a self-governing British Crown Dependency located in the English Channel, off the northwest coast of France. Although it is closely associated with the United Kingdom, Jersey is not part of the UK and has its own government, legal system, and financial regulations. It lies roughly 14 miles (22 km) from the French coast and is part of the Channel Islands.
Jersey’s landscape features a mix of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, fertile valleys, and gently rolling countryside. The island benefits from a mild maritime climate, supporting agriculture such as the famous Jersey Royal potatoes and dairy farming known for Jersey cattle. Coastal areas are marked by dramatic tides and scenic bays, while inland areas include farmland and small villages.
Due to its strategic position between England and France, Jersey has a long history of cultural blending and military significance. It has been influenced by both British and French traditions, reflected in its language, place names, and legal heritage. Today, Jersey is known as an international finance center and a popular destination for tourism, combining historic sites, coastal scenery, and a distinct island identity.

What is an ISO Country Code?

ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used globally in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.

ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.

Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the country's ISO two-letter code.

ISO 3166-2 codes represent states, provinces, or regions. Example: US-AZ = Arizona CA-ON = Ontario Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.
