Djibouti is a small country in the Horn of Africa characterized by arid desert landscapes, volcanic formations, salt lakes such as Lake Assal, and a coastline along the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

๐Ÿ“ Djibouti is a small country located in the Horn of Africa in East Africa, positioned at a strategic point where the Red Sea meets the Gulf of Aden. It is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Ethiopia to the west and south, and Somalia to the southeast, with a coastline along the Gulf of Aden to the east.
Djiboutiโ€™s terrain is largely arid and volcanic, featuring deserts, salt flats, and rugged landscapes, including areas below sea level such as Lake Assal, one of the lowest points in Africa. Its location at the entrance to the Red Sea, near one of the worldโ€™s busiest shipping routes, has made it highly significant for global trade and military presence. Djiboutiโ€™s geography plays a key role in regional connectivity between Africa and the Middle East.

ISO country codes come from the international standard ISO 3166 created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These codes are used globally in databases, aviation systems, banking, shipping, and international data systems to uniquely identify countries and territories.

ISO 3166-1 codes are the two-letter country codes such as US, FR, or JP. These are called Level-1 ISO codes.

Only ISO 3166-1 codes support flag emojis. Flag emojis are created by combining two Unicode regional indicator letters that match the country's ISO two-letter code.

Djibouti is assigned the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code:

DJ

Subdivision codes do not have flag emojis.
