North Korea is a country in East Asia on the northern half of the Korean Peninsula, characterized by mountainous terrain, river valleys, and coastlines along the Yellow Sea and the Sea of Japan.

📍 North Korea is a country located in East Asia, occupying the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. It is bordered by China to the north and Russia to the northeast, and shares a heavily fortified border with South Korea to the south, known as the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). It has coastlines along the Yellow Sea to the west and the Sea of Japan (East Sea) to the east.
North Korea’s terrain is largely mountainous, with ranges covering much of the interior, while plains are found mainly along the western coast. Rivers and valleys support agriculture, particularly in the west.
Its location on the Korean Peninsula has historically made it a strategic area for trade, conflict, and cultural exchange between China, Korea, and Japan.
