Polynesia is a subregion of Oceania located in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean, defined by a vast triangle formed by Hawaii in the north, New Zealand in the southwest, and Easter Island in the southeast. It is characterized by thousands of islands and atolls, ranging from high volcanic islands to low coral formations, spread across a massive area of ocean. Its landscapes include tropical forests, volcanic peaks, lagoons, and extensive coral reef systems. The region includes island groups such as Samoa, Tonga, and French Polynesia, and is one of the four primary subregions of Oceania alongside Australasia, Melanesia, and Micronesia.
