Sint Eustatius is a special municipality of the Netherlands in the Caribbean Sea characterized by a volcanic island with hilly terrain, tropical vegetation, and surrounding coral reefs.

📍 Sint Eustatius is a small Caribbean island located in the northeastern Caribbean Sea, southeast of Saba and south of Sint Maarten. It is a special municipality of the Netherlands and forms part of the Caribbean Netherlands, with no land borders and surrounded entirely by the Caribbean Sea.
Sint Eustatius’s geography is characterized by a combination of volcanic and flat terrain within a compact area of about 21 square kilometers (8 square miles). The island is dominated in the southeast by The Quill, a volcanic cone covered in lush vegetation, while the northwestern portion is lower and more developed. Its coastline varies from rocky shores to small sandy areas, and the surrounding waters support coral reefs and marine life. The island’s tropical climate, fertile volcanic soils, and strategic location have influenced its historical importance in Caribbean trade, while today its natural environment supports conservation, diving, and tourism.
