Macau or Macao is a special administrative region of China. It consists of the Macau Peninsula, Taipa, Cotai and Coloane Island, alongside several smaller islands. The territory is located south of Zhuhai City, Guangdong (Canton) Province and west of Hong Kong SAR, which is connected to it by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. With a population of about 710,000 people and a land area of 32.9 square kilometres (12.7 sq mi), it is the most densely populated region in the world.
