According to a Los Angeles Times story cited on What Really Happened, one of Southern California’s largest and most liberal churches could be losing its tax-exempt status, merely because of an anti-war sermon its now-former rector delivered, two days before the 2004 election. The Internal Revenue Service has warned the All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, California, that it may be losing its tax exemption, citing a sermon by the Rev. George F. Regas, on Oct. 31, 2004. In his lesson that day, Regas (who had previously opposed from the pulpit both the Vietnam War and 1991’s Gulf War), imagined Jesus in a political debate with then-candidates George W. Bush and John Kerry. According to the story, he did not take sides or tell parishioners who to vote for, but he did criticize the war in Iraq, stating that Jesus would have called Bush’s pre-emptive war “a failed doctrine,” and that “Forcibly changing the regime of an enemy that posed no imminent threat has led to disaster.” Regas was rector of All Saints from 1967 to 1995, and was a guest speaker at that particular service. The response from the IRS was far from immediate, but the church received a notice on June 9 that “a reasonable belief exists that you may not be tax-exempt as a church,” citing an LA Times account of the Regas sermon. Perhaps most ironic is the fact that the IRS cited the Times’s coverage of the sermon, and not the sermon itself, as its basis for the decision; the Times went beyond quoting from the sermon’s text and characterized it as a “searing indictment of the Bush administration’s policies in Iraq,” which also described “tax cuts as inimical to the values of Jesus.” The IRS letter specifically cited these news report characterizations of Regas’s words. Meanwhile, current Rector J. Edwin Bacon was quoted as saying, “We are so careful at our church never to endorse a candidate. One of the strongest sermons I’ve ever given was against President Clinton’s fraying of the social safety net.” Phone calls by the Times, attempting to reach IRS officials in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles for comment, were not returned. A further consideration is that churches all over California have been taking stances on both sides of the controversial Proposition 73, which would ban abortions for minors without parental notification. Some at All Saints believe they are being singled out in spite of the tolerance for this widespread political activity. Bacon said the church had retained the services of a Washington law firm with expertise in tax-exempt organizations, and told his congregation: “It’s important for everyone to understand that the IRS concerns are not supported by the facts.” In an October letter to the IRS, Marcus Owens, the church’s tax attorney and a former head of the IRS tax-exempt section, said, “It seems ludicrous to suggest that a pastor cannot preach about the value of promoting peace simply because the nation happens to be at war during an election season.” – ST staff reports – Free-Market News Network

Many people have confused the tax issue as it relates to churches. And there is no comparison with personal taxes. That is a different subject altogether. The issue relating to churches and taxes is two-fold: Should churches pay taxes and do churches have a right to demand that all gifts be deductible from a contributor’s income tax? That is the issue before us today.
The Bible nor the Constitution speak to this issue of tax deduction. The fact that we have been permitted to deduct from our taxes what we give to the church is simply a benefit that we have had since the income tax was foisted upon us in 1913. I believe that benefit is coming to an end – and maybe it should!
Should churches be willing to bow to Baal in order to have the privilege of tax deduction by its members? Remember the principle that if you get a benefit from government, you willingly put yourself (or church) under its authority while at the same time losing some autonomy.
The Bob Jones decision (where the Supreme Court twisted the Constitution and reality like a pretzel) will haunt us for decades. If a church stands for anything contrary to “public policy” it will be said to be in violation of the Constitution. What is “public policy”? If you preach against perversion, abortion, welfare, etc. then you are going against “public policy” and may lose your tax exemption.
Should a church have tax exempt status especially when you realize the price that must be paid to keep it? The price? Obedience to Federal regulations. If a church did not have the benefits of tax exemption, there would be no “sword” over it. A pastor could preach about any moral issue and could support any political candidate without fear of losing that tax exempt status since the church would not have it to lose.
Another question: Suppose you knew a candidate for office were another Hitler who would do irreparable harm to our nation and wreak havoc with our churches. Under the law your church cannot help defeat him and help elect his opponent. Why? Because that is part of the “contract” you have with the government. Is it worth it? Is it now past time for churches to declare themselves totally independent of government coercion by surrendering their tax exempt status?
Frankly, I think the issue is moot because I believe the government will “cut the cord” between us in order to collect more personal taxes from each of us. Of course, concerned pastors will ask: Will church members continue to give the same amount if their gifts are not deductible from their tax returns? Wise pastors should start preparing their people NOW for that day.
We have bowed the knee to Baal for too long, and while government has its legitimate place, it is not at church! Maybe it is time to tell public officials to keep their grubby hands off the Church of Jesus Christ and keep them out of church coffers. And as for tax exemption, we will trade it for our freedom. Not a bad deal when you come to think about it, and I hope you will.

A large church organization has refused to divulge how many of its pastors are on the FEMA payroll, after a member expressed concerns about religious leaders being used to condition their congregation to accept the declaration of martial law. In a May 2006 story we first broke the shocking news that FEMA was training pastors and other religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to “obey the government” in preparation for a declaration of martial law, property and firearm seizures, and forced relocation. Despite debunkers and urban myth websites claiming the story was a hoax, it was confirmed in triplicate by mainstream news outlets over a year later. A KSLA news report confirmed that Clergy Response Teams are being trained by the federal government to “quell dissent” and pacify citizens to obey the government in the event of a declaration of martial law. Concerned about such developments, a member of the California-based Worldwide Church of God, an organization that boasts 64,000 members in 860 congregations in about 90 countries, asked if any of the church‟s pastors were involved in the FEMA program. “The head office quickly replied hastily within an hour by telling me, “Sorry, that is privileged information”, the man states. “The reply was in big bold script like I‟ve never seen before in emails. I was also a bit put off by the word “privileged.” “I responded to the stated email and reworded my request slightly by demanding, “are there ANY of our pastors on the payroll of FEMA , YES or NO.” Their first response came after about an hour. But, it has been almost 24 hours and I am still waiting for my church‟s second response to my second request,” he adds. It seems that church groups are reticent to let slip any information concerning the issue of pastors being trained to help manage a state of martial law following the controversy stirred up by the exposure of the program in 2006. Indeed, the pastors that took a risk by first divulging the information to us were later threatened by Homeland Security and told to keep their mouths shut. With new legislation in Congress pending that will mandate the set-up of a network of FEMA camp facilities to be used to house U.S. citizens in the event of a national emergency, along with the announcement that tens of thousands of active military personnel are to be placed inside the United States under Northcom, partly for purposes of dealing with “civil unrest” and “crowd control”, fears about a state of martial law being prepared are no longer the fantasies of paranoid conspiracy theorists, but an all too real possibility as we move towards the end of the first decade of the 21st century.

Ministers. “We need people to take up leadership in their community and make sure nobody gets left out in the switch,” FCC Commissioner Jonathan S. Adelstein said during a public forum at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in South Los Angeles. “Churches already have the infrastructure in place to do that.” Standing at the church pulpit, Adelstein asked the Baptist Ministries Conference of Los Angeles, nearly 50 African American preachers who meet once a month, to include information on the June 12 digital TV switch in their sermons.L.A. County has the largest number of over-the-air viewers in the country, Adelstein said, and those viewers are concentrated in the minority and elderly communities. “It’s sort of an ad-hoc approach to handling this situation, but the next four months will fly by and we need to be ready,” he said. Adelstein and five local FCC field officers handed out applications for $40 coupons for digital-to-analog converter boxes. They also dispensed a few pieces of advice: There isn’t much difference between a $40 converter box and a $70 model; and cable and satellite TV customers don’t need one at all. Adelstein and the field officers spent their morning at a senior center in West Covina, where they explained the upcoming switch and showed how to connect a converter box to a TV. After the midday stop at the church, the group headed to Cal State L.A. to reach out to the Latino community. The transition, originally scheduled for Feb. 17, was delayed last week by Congress until June 12. FCC field officers are planning more meetings in schools, churches and neighborhood centers before the switch, Adelstein said. The Monday meeting at Mount Moriah was organized by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights. Woodie Ramsey, a deacon at Southern Missionary Baptist Church of South East Los Angeles, said the ministers were prepared to spread the word. “It’s incumbent upon each church to take care of the needs of its ministry, and this is just one more need for our people,” he said. “We’ll do our part.”

By Dr. Greg Dixon–The subject that we are dealing with, in my opinion, is the most confusing subject among preachers and church lay folks and even attorneys that we have to deal with constantly at the Biblical Law Center. For instance, often preachers say to us, “Our church isn’t a 501(c)(3) church because we aren’t incorporated.” We will ask, “Does the church have a bank account, EIN #, trustees, Constitution and By-laws, conduct an annual business meeting, give tax deductible receipts, file tax-exempt forms, file for mercantile permits, support missionaries through an incorporated missions board, or is the church listed in a Denomination or Incorporated Fellowship Directory, etc.?” If the answer to any of these is “yes,” then even if the church is not incorporated, it has the trappings of a corporation; and besides this, by its very existence it is considered a tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service according to Publication 1828 – Tax Guide for Churches and Other Tax-Exempt Organizations. We do not have the space in this article to try and prove to the skeptics that all of the above are the trappings of corporate activities, and that there are many court cases and examples to give evidence of these facts. Many of them are in my book The Trail of Blood Revisited (Faith Publications – 4th Printing). The next error that we keep hearing is the erroneous idea that churches are automatically tax-exempt. Well, this isn’t true, either. Let’s examine this issue further. The IRS considers the unincorporated church to be a legal entity called an “unincorporated association” or “religious society,” to be treated as any other non-profit organization or “public charity” under Section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the Internal Revenue Code at 508.
508. Special rules with respect to section 501(c)(3) organization
(1) Mandatory exceptions. – (a) and (b) shall not apply to-
(A) churches, their integrated auxiliaries, and conventions or associations, or . . . First you will notice that all churches, whether incorporated or not, are considered to be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charities according to the IRS. Churches, regardless of doctrine, whether incorporated or unincorporated, are treated the same by the IRS. They do not have to file any forms for “tax-exemption.” But it does not say that they have a “Mandatory Tax- Exemption.” Under (1) it says “Mandatory exception.” Now there is a big difference between “exemption” and “exception.” For one, exemption is not mandatory, only the exception is mandatory. But before we look at the difference, let’s notice the status of the “association.”
1. The unincorporated church is considered a legal entity 501(c)(3) at 508 IRS State Church Defined IRS Publication 1828; pg. 1 Churches and religious organizations may be legally organized …under state law, including as un-incorporated associations, non-profit corporations, corporations sole and charitable trusts. But the problem is, if the church does any of the things mentioned above, they are involved in legal enterprises and are or have operated as a legal entity. It’s called entanglement.
2. The Association is one of the four recognized IRS Approved Churches mentioned above. Churches, organized in the four ways mentioned above, including the association, are exempt from corporate taxes at the federal and state level on what is called normal religious activities if they meet the preponderance of a 14 point criteria that was first officially announced by IRS Director Jerome Kurtz in January of 1978, which was the first time in America that this IRS State Church was defined. Beginning at that point all churches, to be tax exempt, must meet this definition in America today. See Pub. 1828 Pg. 1 – “CHURCH – Certain characteristics are generally attributed to churches. These attributes of a church have been developed by the IRS and by court decisions. [Editors note: not by the Bible] They include: a) A distinct legal existence (which includes one of the four mentioned in paragraph one above), b) A recognized creed and form of worship, c) A definite and distinct ecclesiastical government, d) A formal code of doctrine and discipline, e) A distinct religious history, f) A membership not associated with any other church or denomination, g) An organization of ordained ministers, h) Ordained ministers selected after completing prescribed courses of study, i) A literature of its own, j) Established places of worship, k) Regular congregations, l) Regular religious services, m) “Sunday schools” for the religious instruction of the young, n) Schools for the preparation of its ministers. “These characteristics, together with other facts…are used to determine whether an organization is a church for federal tax purposes.” (Emphasis mine) Now compare all of this drivel to the clear, simple language of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” The churches have traded 16 simple words of liberty for the quicksand of the 501(c)(3) trap that has polluted the pure flow of the gospel of grace from flowing throughout our land and even the entire world through the world wide missionary effort.
3. The difference between a Religious Organization and a Church We hear people say constantly at the Biblical Law Center that churches don’t have to be incorporated because churches have mandatory tax-exemption. This is not what the IRC says. It says a “mandatory exception” not “exemption.” There is a vast difference. Churches have a “mandatory exception,” but religious organizations do not, such as non-profit ministries like the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Inc. Para-church organizations do not have a “mandatory exception.” Neither do they have a “mandatory exemption.” First, if they want to be a non-profit organization, they have to file Form 1023 with the IRS. If they are accepted, then they have to file Form 990 annually. Not only are they exempt from corporate taxes, but they can also file for state property and sales tax exemptions. They can also receive tax deductible gifts from donors. But churches have these benefits automatically without having to file Form 1023 and the annual
990, and the pastor gets big time benefits too, but just hold on, the plot gets thicker.
4. Religious Organizations, including churches, have to meet strict rules to maintain their Tax Exempt Status – IRS Pub. 1828; pg. 1 “This publication explains the benefits and the responsibilities under the federal tax system for churches and religious organizations.” The IRS makes no distinction between churches and religious (parachurch) organizations. “No substantial part of its activity may be attempting to influence legislation,”
(Substantial is totally subjective on the part of the IRS) “The organization may not intervene in political campaigns.” “No part of the organization’s purpose or activities may be illegal or violate fundamental public policy.” Abortion, sodomy, unjust wars are all now a part of the federal “public policy” frame work of our nation. Back when the “fundamental public policy” reflected a Christian world view, the preachers were happy to accept these benefits, never considering the old adage, “Come shekels, Come shackles.” But the principle was still the same. Also, the organization and church, if it has minister “employees,” must collect and pay taxes to the federal and state government, which makes the church a collector and payer of taxes contrary to the scriptures. “And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.” – Luke 20:25
5. The difference between Exception and Exemption Note: IRS Pub. 1828; pg. 1 IRC: Section 501(c) (3) describes charitable organizations, including churches and religious organizations, which qualify for exemption from federal income tax and generally are eligible to receive tax deductible contributions. You will notice that the exemption isn’t automatic. The church must qualify by meeting and maintaining the standards set up for tax-exempt organizations. IRS Pub. 1828; Page 2 “Churches that meet the requirements of Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section
501(c)(3) are automatically considered exempt. And are not required to apply for and obtain recognition of tax exempt status from the IRS. However, even though churches are generally eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions, to qualify for tax exemption, such organizations must meet the following requirements:” Note: Churches are automatically considered exempt and are not required to apply for tax exempt status but they still have to meet “the following requirements.” So churches do not have automatic tax exemption. There is a vast difference between these two words. Just because a church, even if it isn’t incorporated, doesn’t have to file for tax-exempt status, it still has to “qualify” and maintain its tax-exempt status by meeting all of the standards that tax exempt organizations meet. (EIN) Pub. 1828 Continues “Every tax-exempt organization, including a church, should have an EIN, whether or not the organization has employees. An organization that does not have an EIN should file Form SS-4 Application for Employer Identification ry! I thank God for allowing us to go through this trial and gain the knowledge to help expose this terrible tyranny. I am also thankful for the wisdom and perception of Judge Davis and the appeals court in rendering and upholding a ruling that would not license the plunder of untold Christian congregations across our land. There has been no repentance or acknowledgement of wrong doing on the part of Lewis in this whole sad spectacle. To him, everyone is to blame but him. This preacher is to blame because he says we influenced a church “split” to rebel against him, which is untrue. The
Ecclesiastical Council, a group of Baptist pastors, who at the request of the Shepherd Group examined all of the evidence and came to the basic conclusion of the secular courts in December 1999, is to blame, because they have no authority over his church and are a “Romish, Popish authority,” etc. The courts are to blame because they are crooked, etc. Now this is the strangest of all. In an email dated Dec. 14, Lewis admits that he lied in the Shepherd case in the following words: Sure I don’t confess to a stinking Marxist or Prostituting cop or lawyer/ judge something that they say is unlawful, if I have done nothing to break the laws of God! I am happy to “lie” like the Hebrew midwives did in Exodus 1:15-21; or like Rahab did in Joshua 2, James 2:25; and Hebrews 11:31.” This was in reference to Judge Davis’ excoriating accusations against him in his findings that said:
1. Trespass – By entering the property of Shepherd’s without permission and building fences within the boundaries of her land.
2. Conversion – By knowingly or intentionally exerting control over Shepherd’s property.
3. Lewis attempted to steal and attempted the offense of committed theft of Shepherd’s real estate.
4. Theft and Conversion – The Court finds that Lewis intentionally retained Shepherd’s real estate after he had by fraudulent and deceptive means convinced her to have it titled in Old Paths Baptist Church temporarily.
5. Fraud – Lewis intended to defraud and obtain title to Shepherd’s real property.
6. Deception – The Court specifically finds Lewis knowingly or intentionally deceived with the intent to obtain the proceeds of Shepherd’s dead husband’s life insurance. How do you think Judge Davis feels about this kind of treatment? Lewis is the one who asked the court to determine who was right. He is the one who subjected His church to a worldly court. He is the one who said by going to the court that he would abide by the court’s decision – and now he is saying that the court is “crooked?” Please see the article Unincorporated Associations Are Not Unregistered New Testament Churches on page 2 Number, in accordance with the instructions.” Again, we see the mind games they play. The word “should” as well as “may” are not imperatives in law, but rather are suggestions. However, in such an august setting as the IRC, it is given the color of law. Therefore, to be on the safe side, attorneys, CPAs, tax preparers, etc., because of a cowardly fear of “Big Brother,” recommend compliance. Banks then wade into the equation by demanding an EIN as if it is embedded in law. Then over time, the general practice becomes respectable, and then anyone who refuses to go along with the majority is looked upon as a misfit in society and is persecuted by the majority. Then the liberal news media finishes off the mass brainwashing job, aided by government, and heaps scorn on those non-conformists until judges and juries, through the courts, force the conduct into the respectability of law, bypassing the Legislative branch of government. Once the issue finally gets before a jury, generally in tax cases, either the judge instructs the jury to find the defendant guilty or the jury does it on their own. If it gets to the appeals courts, the justices then pick the corpse clean. This is the way a democracy – or rather a mobocracy – works. What we now have is an IRS recognized and controlled church in America, and without their approval and number, the Lord’s true churches cannot exist without a great deal of difficulty. This IRS approved State church includes weird religious cults of all kinds, witches covens, Jewish synagogues, mosques, Mormon Stakes or Buddhist Temples. The Supreme Court even allows the Babalu’s, a strange cult that cuts the heads off chickens in downtown Hialeah, Florida, to have their tax-exemption in spite of their violating the health laws of the city, because THEY HAVE THE NUMBER. When the Biblical Law Center aids in the organizing or reorganizing of a church using its methods, the church makes a Declaration that it is not one of these IRS “legal entities”, but rather a New Testament church recognizing the Lord Jesus Christ as its only Lord and Head.

Each of these propositions has been taken from IRS Publication 1828, Tax Guide For Churches and Other Religious Organizations, two letters from the Regional Commissioner of the IRS Cincinnati that the Indianapolis received through discovery, the twenty-two interrogatories that were included with the letters, and the 4 inch file that accompanied the letter with the news clippings on the church and pastor dating back to 1971.
The following demands are what the Internal Revenue Service requires of churches to maintain exemption from Federal Income Tax.
1. The church must have a “distinct legal existence” – According to IRS publication #557 that legal existence would date from incorporation, page 3. Therefore a church must be incorporated.
2. The church must admit that it exists by privilege granted by the IRS (tax-exempt) rather than by right granted by God through the Holy Scriptures, (non-taxable) recognizing another Head (State) rather than Christ.
3. The church must have a “recognized creed and form of worship”. The IRS must approve (recognize) the creed (belief) and form (manner) of worship.
4. The church must have a “definite and distinct ecclesiastical government.”
5. The church must have a “formal code of doctrine and discipline.”
6. The church must have a “distinct religious history.” This is denominational.
7. The church must be an “organization”.
8. The church must be an “organization of ordained ministers”.
9. The church must have these ordained ministers who are “selected after completing prescribed courses of study”. Like the Apostles, who had only “been with Jesus”, local Baptist churches many times approve pastors who are not educated at all in any formal way.
10. The church must have “established places of worship.” True churches many times have no permanent address (place of worship), but because of persecution and other reasons have moved from place to place.
11. The church must submit to the IRS by paying a user fee (tribute) for tax-exempt status. This would be contrary to the Scriptures, and U.S., and all State Constitutions.
12. The church must be engaged in activities that further “exclusively public Purposes rather than Private interests.” The true church of Christ exists for the personal and private interest of Christ her Head, not the State.
13. The church must answer to the IRS as to its “daily activities.”
14. The IRS controls all financial activities of the church including source, donors of $100.00 or more, and expenditures.
15. The church may not use cash, or it will be suspected of money laundering. All books and records must be available for IRS inspection at all times.
16. The church must act in the capacity of an informer to the RIS as to who serves at the church in the capacity of “pastors, associates, counselors, educational directors, teachers, office help, clerical, and maintenance personnel.”
17. The church must inform the IRS as to who the church helps in the area of charity.
18. The church must inform the IRS as to love gifts to evangelists and missionaries over $600.00 by filing a Form 1099 on each including those who are regularly supported.
19. The church must use only IRS approved methods of fund raising.
20. The pastor of the church must not preach against the tax system of the U.S. or say anything against the practices and tactics of the IRS.
21. The pastor of the church must answer to the IRS and give unlimited submission to the civil magistrate pertaining to all laws, federal, state and local, including “Public Policy.”

Who Are the Nicolaitans?
Friday, June 24th, 2011 by GregNicolaitans: One of the heretical sects that plagued the churches at Ephesus and at Pergamum, and perhaps elsewhere. Irenaeus identifies the Nicolaitans as a Gnostic sect: “John, the disciple of the Lord, preaches this faith (the deity of Christ), and seeks, by the proclamation of the Gospel, to remove that error which by Cerinthus had been disseminated among men, and a long time previously by those termed Nicolaitans, who are an offset of that “knowledge” falsely so called, that he might confound them, and persuade them that there is but one God, who made all things by His Word” (see Irenaeus Against Heresies iii 11. 1; ANF vol. 1, p. 426) There is also historical evidence of a Gnostic sect called Nitolaitans a century or so later.
The doctrine of the Nicolaitans appears to have been a form of antinomianism. (Antinomianism: A belief that is based upon a recognition of the mercy of God as the ground of salvation, but it makes the fatal mistake that man can freely partake in sin because the Law of God is no longer binding. It held the truth on the gratuitous reckoning of righteousness; but supposed that a mere intellectual “belief” in this truth had a saving power. The Apostle James refuted this error in James 2:19 with the admonition, “The devils also believe, and tremble”; reminding us that true faith is an active principle which works by love and it goes beyond a profession of belief. “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:20) The Bible teaches us that salvation is a free gift, based upon God’s grace alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) However, the very next verse tells us that “we are created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) True faith produce action, as well as a desire for holiness and obedience. (1 John 3:18, Titus 2:11-15, 1 Peter 1:15-16, Revelation 14:12)
Nicolaitans of the 2nd century seem to have continued and extended the views of the 1st century adherents, holding to the freedom of the flesh and sin, and teaching that the deeds of the flesh had no effect upon the health of the soul and consequently no relation to salvation. On the other hand, the Bible teaches that Christians are supposed to “die” to sin and the deeds of our “flesh”: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” (Romans 6:1-2) “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.” (Romans 6:11-13)
Today, the doctrine is now largely taught that the gospel of Christ has made God’s law of no effect: that by “believing” we are released from the necessity of being doers of the Word. But this is the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which Christ so unsparingly condemned in the book of Revelation. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” (James 1:22)

This article is an overview of how we are controlled by technology – from having our brainwaves deliberately changed en masse by transmitters regulating our state of consciousness, to how we are victims of electromagnetic waves disrupting the state of our health and finally how many of us will die, as decided by our global masters.
Earth is wrapped in a donut shaped magnetic field. Circular lines of flux continuously descend into the North Pole and emerge from the South Pole. The ionosphere, an electromagnetic-wave conductor, 100 kms above the earth, consists of a layer of electrically charged particles acting as a shield from solar winds. Natural waves are related to the electrical activity in the atmosphere and are thought to be caused by multiple lightning storms.
Collectively, these waves are called ”The Schumann Resonance,’ the current strongest at 7.8 Hz.
These are quasi-standing extremely low frequency (ELF) waves that naturally exist in the earth‘s ”electromagnetic” cavity, the space between the ground and the ionosphere. These ”earth brainwaves” are identical to the spectrum of our brainwaves. (1 hertz = 1 cycle per second, 1 Khz = 1000, 1 Mhz =1 million. A 1 Hertz wave is 186,000 miles long; 10 Hz is 18,600 miles. Radio waves move at the speed of light.)
The Creator designed living beings to resonate to this natural frequency pulsation in order to evolve harmoniously. The ionosphere is being manipulated by US government scientists using an Alaskan transmitter called HAARP, (High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) which sends focused radiated power to heat up sections of the ionosphere, which bounces power down again.
ELF waves from HAARP, when targeted on certain areas, can engineer weather and create mood changes effecting millions of people.
The intended wattage is 1,700 billion watts of power. A former govt. insider deduced they want to flip the world upside down. Sixty-four (64) elements in the ground modulate, with variation, the geomagnetic waves naturally coming from the ground. The ”earth‘s natural brain rhythm” above is balanced with these.
These are the same minerals as the red blood corpuscles. There is a relation between the blood and geomagnetic waves. An imbalance between Schumann and geomagnetic waves disrupts biorhythms.
These natural geomagnetic waves are being replaced by artificially created very low frequency (VLF) ground waves coming from GWEN Towers.
WHAT ARE GWEN TOWERS?
GWEN (Ground Wave Emergency Network) transmitters, placed 200 miles apart across the USA, allow specific frequencies to be tailored to the geomagnetic-field strength in each area, allowing the magnetic field to be altered.
They operate in the VLF range, with transmissions between VLF 150 and 175 KHz. They also emit UHF waves of 225 – 400 MHz.
The VLF signals travel by waves that hug the ground rather than radiate into the atmosphere. A GWEN station transmits up to a 300-mile radius, the signal dropping off sharply over distance. The entire GWEN system consists of, (depending on source of data), from 58 to an intended 300 transmitters, spread across the USA, each with a tower 299-500 ft high.
Three hundred (300) ft. of copper wire fans out in a spoke like fashion from the base of the underground system, interacting with the earth like a thin shelled conductor, radiating radio wave energy for very long distances through the ground. The USA bathes in this magnetic field which rises to 500 ft, even going down to basements, so everyone is subject to mind control.
The whole artificial ground wave spreads out over USA like a web. It is easier to mind-control and hypnotize people who are bathed in an artificial electromagnetic wave.

GWEN transmitters have many different functions, including controlling the weather, mind, behavior and mood control of the populace. They are also used to send synthetic telepathy disguised as infrasound to those victims of US government mind-control implants.
These towers work in conjunction with HAARP and the Russian Woodpecker transmitter, a system similar to HAARP. The Russians openly market a small version of their weather-engineering system called Elate, which can fine-tune weather patterns over a 200 mile area and have the same range as the GWEN unit. One such system operates at the Moscow airport.
The GWEN Towers shoot enormous bursts of energy into the atmosphere in conjunction with HAARP. The internet website: www.cuttingedge.org, published an expose on how the major floods of 1993 in the Mid-Western United States were instigated by these systems. How does this happen?
Invisible, enormous rivers of water, consisting of vapors that flow, move towards the poles in the lower atmosphere. They rival the flow of the Amazon River and are 420 to 480 miles wide and up to 4,800 miles long.
They are 1.9 miles above the earth and move 340 lbs of water per second. There are 5 atmospheric rivers in each Hemisphere. A massive flood can be created by damming up one of these massive vapor rivers, causing huge amounts of rainfall to be dumped. The GWEN Towers positioned along the areas north of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers were turned on for 40 days and 40 nights, probably mocking the Flood of Genesis. (This was in conjunction with HAARP).
The damming of the vapor rivers creates a river of electricity flowing thousands of miles through the sky and down to the polar ice-cap, manipulating the jet-stream. Again, these two major rivers flooded, causing agricultural losses of $12-15 billion. HAARP also produces earthquakes by focusing on the fault lines. GWEN Towers are positioned on the fault lines and volcanic areas of the Pacific Northwest.
In 1963, Dr. Robert Becker explored effects of external magnetic-fields on brainwaves, showing a relationship between psychiatric hospital admissions and solar magnetic storms. He exposed volunteers to pulsed magnetic-fields similar to magnetic storms, and found a similar response. In the United States, sixty (60) Hz electric-power ELF waves vibrate at the same frequency as the human brain. In the United Kingdom, fifty (50) Hz electricity emissions depress the thyroid.
Dr. Andrija Puharich (in the 1950 & 60s), found that a clairvoyant‘s brainwaves turned to 8 Hz when their psychic powers were operative. In 1956, he observed an Indian Yogi controlling his brainwaves, deliberately shifting his consciousness from one level to another. Puharich trained people via bio-feedback to do this consciously, that is, creating 8 Hz waves with the technique of bio-feedback. A psychic healer generated 8 Hz waves through a hands-on healing process, actually alleviating that patient‘s heart trouble; the healer‘s brain emitting 8 Hz.
One person, emitting a certain frequency, can make another also resonate to the same frequency. Our brains are extremely vulnerable to any technology that sends out ELF waves, because they immediately start resonating to the outside signal by a kind of tuning-fork effect.
Puharich further experimented, discovering that,
7.83 Hz (earth‘s pulse rate) made a person ”feel good,” producing an altered-state
10.80 Hz causes riotous behavior
6.6 Hz causes depression.
Puharich made ELF waves change RNA and DNA in the body, breaking hydrogen bonds to make a person resonate at a higher vibratory rate. He really wanted to go beyond the psychic 8 Hz brainwave and attract psi phenomena.
James Hurtak, who once worked for Puharich, also wrote in his book The Keys of Enoch that ultra-violet caused hydrogen bonds to break and this raised the vibratory rate.
Puharich presented the mental effects of ELF waves to military leaders, but they would not believe him. He then gave this information to certain dignitaries of other Western nations. The US Government burned down his home in New York to shut him up, whereas he then fled to Mexico. However, the Russians discovered which ELF frequencies affected what portion of the human brain; it was on July 4, 1976, that they began zapping the U.S. Embassy in Moscow with electromagnetic-waves, varying the signal, also focusing on 10 Hz. (10 Hz puts people into a hypnotic state).
Russians and North Koreans use this in portable mind-control machines to extract confessions. (This system can also be found in some American Churches to help the congregation believe!)
This Russian “Woodpecker“ signal was traveling across the world from a transmitter near Kiev. The US Air Force identified 5 different frequencies in this compound that the harmonic Woodpecker was sending through the earth and atmosphere.
In 1901, Nikola Tesla, Nobel prize winner in Physics (shared with Einstein) revealed that power could be transmitted through the ground using ELF waves. Nothing stops or weakens these signals. The Russians retrieved Tesla‘s papers when they were returned to Yugoslavia after his death.
In Mexico, Puharich continued to monitor the Russian ELF wave signal and the higher harmonics (5.340 MHz) in the MHz range. He was somehow induced to work for the CIA and he and Dr. Robert Becker designed equipment to measure these waves and their effect on the human brain. Puharich started his work by putting dogs to sleep.
By 1948/49, he had graduated to monkeys, deliberately destroying their eardrums to enable them to pick up sounds without the eardrum intact. He discovered a nerve from the tongue could be used to facilitate hearing. He created the tooth implant that mind-control victims are now claiming was put in by their dentist, unbeknownst to them, and causing them to hear ”voices in their head.‘ These were placed under caps or lodged in the jaw.
Implants are now smaller than a hair‘s width and are injected with vaccine and flu shots. Millions have had this done unknowingly. These ”biochips‘ circulate in the bloodstream and lodge in the brain, enabling the victims to hear ”voices‘ via the implant. There are many kinds of implants now, and it is estimated that 1 in 40 people are recipients of these tiny implants due to alien abductions. However, others have suggested that one in 20 might just be a more accurate statistic.
The fake alien abduction – these revealed by many victims – are actually engineered by the U.S. military, using advanced technology to create holograms (4th dimensional pictures) or holographic spaceships outside. This holographic, advanced technology can actually create a scenario whereas the person believes he/she is going into a spaceship. However, once inside, the aliens are in masquerade; they are actually military personnel outfitted in full costumes, masks et al..
Certainly real abductions occur, however, the ”alien abduction” scenario has been most useful to the military in confusing the over all issue. This clouding tends to halt any further investigation into a government participation and inevitably absolves them of any accountability. They are banking on the poor helpless victims feeling too intimidated to reveal such a shocking episode, lest ridicule be visited upon them.
Are the global masters forcing us to respond to an artificially induced vibratory rate? Those power mongers who want this planet to have a sudden leap in evolution, populated only by the psychically aware and therefore superior class of human? What about the billions of people who are commonly referred to as ”useless eaters”; are they to be conveniently disposed of by electro-magnetically-induced cancers and diseases? It certainly causes one to stop and ponder this catastrophic situation.
The physics and engineering behind electromagnetic disease transmission are frightening. Diseases can be reproduced as ”disease signatures” in that the vibration of a disease can be manufactured and sent on to be artificially induced. (The brainwave pattern of hallucinogenic drugs can also be copied and sent by ELF waves to induce ”visions”). Once diseases are sprayed in the air, electromagnetic waves attune to the disease by using harmonics and sub-harmonics, which in turn make them even more lethal and infectious; actually a more apt description would be deadly, as in inducing death.
The skies are filled daily with chemtrails, those crisscrossed white patterns that are sprayed out across the heavens in the United States and other countries. Are these like contrails that jets emit behind them? Not exactly… contrails dissipate rather quickly, but the chemtrails – those feathery streaks that linger – are deliberately being sprayed and contain insidious chemicals (retrieved, analyzed and proven) which affect the state of consciousness, producing apathy.
This is only one “program“ that has been initiated to keep the populace in a continual apathetic state. Add to this, the fluoridation of the drinking water, aspartame nutri-sweet, etc., and other highly-questionable drugs.
Fluoride disables the willpower section of the brain, impairing the left occipital lobe. Both fluoride and selenium (in additional amounts) can produce strange effects; one common symptom is that of “hearing voices‘.
ELF waves create disturbances in the biological processes of the body, activated on a large scale once the body has been exposed to the aforementioned disease-causing chemtrails.
Some chemtrails have been analyzed under laboratory conditions, the elements shown to cause cleavages in spatial perceptions, blocking the interaction of various amino acids that relate to higher-consciousness. Some were also shown to increase dopamine in the brain thereby producing a listless, euphoric state of lower reactive mind. This is done to basically create confusion, rendering a person unable to differentiate between the real and illusionary. In addition, some of these chemtrails could be connected with the many UFO abductions occurring on a global massive scale.
Many victims, some recalled under hypnotic regression, have witnessed other abductees laid out on tables (in a sort of assembly line operation) and in the process or being implanted.
Intelligence agencies are in league with each other, behind this disablement of the masses to such a degree where they can‘t even fight back. In order to implement their plans, that of total control of the populace, they need the overall ”frequency” of each victim to function at a specific rate, below the threshold of awareness.
Could this be part of a greater plan with mind-control transmitters covering the whole of USA and England, cleverly disguised as cell phone towers and trees? The power from microwave towers may be turned up to such a level that people will die.
A brain functioning at beta-level (above 13 Hz) is agitated and cannot change the perceptions if it is artificially stabilized to that frequency by technological methods. This frequency may also increase body electricity in others, giving them psychic powers. Is this linked to the new-agers claim of a 12-14 Hz Schumann Resonance, inching us towards the 4th dimension?
Stimulants ingested globally from higher-caffeine, genetically modified plants, may also make an impact on the ”global-brain” in the ionosphere that is collecting our brainwaves.
New-age channelers say we are going into a 4th dimensional frequency. They ”heard‘ the voice of some ”ET” who informed them of this.
However, some ”ETs” are just plain earthians in disguise. Using Tesla Technology, Prisoners in the Utah State Prison were bombarded with voices from a “purported“ ET, each prisoner receiving the same identical message. Curious, indeed. Today, it is relatively simple to produce these “voices in the head.“ Implants/microchips are no longer necessary.
In 1988, an inmate in Draper Prison, Utah by the name of David Fratus wrote:
“I began to receive or hear, high-frequency tones in my ears. When I plugged my ears, the tones were still inside and became amplified. It’s as if they had became electrified echo chambers with the sounds coming from the inside out.
I then began to hear voices, right in my inner ears and just as vividly as though I were listening to a set of stereo headphones. The end result is that I am now having my brain monitored by an omnipotent computerized mind reading or scanning machine of some sort.“
Hundreds of inmates at the Gunnison Facility of the Utah State Prison and the State Hospital were subjected to this brand of mind-control, used as test subjects like rats in a lab. In the early 1970s, this was revealed in the Utah U.S. District Court.
While incarcerated, these inmate test subjects, having been subjected to this Tesla-wave mind-control, tried to seek restitution in the courtroom. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
The University of Utah researched how Tesla-waves could be used to manipulate the mind into hearing voices, overriding and implanting thoughts into the mind, in addition to reading thoughts. They also went about developing eye-implants. Cray (The Cadillac of computers, ultra sophisticated) computers, using artificial intelligence, monitor the victims of government produced implants, sending pre-recorded sound bytes or occasional live messages.
They are picked up by satellite and relayed to whatever large TV broadcasting antenna, GWEN tower or other antenna that is nearest the victim. It is believed that some types of implants pick up the signal and broadcast the correct Tesla-wave pattern to create voices within the victim.
The tracking implant keeps the staff and the satellite system informed every few minutes as to exactly where to send the voice signals. The master computer and central HQ for this is reported to be Boulder, CO. It is thought that transponders are being made there.
The central cellular computer is in the Boulder, CO National Bureau of Standards building. AT&T is also cooperating; several agencies work together on this.
Tim Rifat of UK wrote that “this inter-cerebral hearing“ is used to drive the victim mad, as no one else can hear the voices transmitted into the brain of the target. Transmission of auditory data directly into the target‘s brains using microwave carrier beams is now common practice. Instead of using excitation potentials, one uses a transducer to modify the spoken word into ELF audiograms that are then superimposed on the pulse modulated microwave beam.
On March 21, 1983, The Sydney Morning Herald published this by Dr. Nassim Abd El-Aziz Neweigy, Assistant Professor of Agriculture, Moshtohor Tukh-Kalubia, Egypt.
This article stated:
“Russian satellites, controlled by advanced computers, can send voices in one‘s own language, interwoven into natural thoughts. They can target the population of choice with this diffused artificial thought process. The chemistry and electricity of the human brain can be manipulated by satellite and even suicide can be induced.
Through ferocious, anti-humanitarian means, the extremist groups are fabricated, the troubles and bloody disturbances are instigated by advanced tele-means via Russian satellites in many countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.“
Another source says that these have been fed with the world‘s languages and synthetic telepathy will reach into people‘s heads making people believe God is speaking to them personally to enact the Second Coming, complete with holograms!
The Russians broke the genetic code of the human brain. They worked out 23 EEG band-wave lengths, 11 of which were totally independent. So if you can manipulate those 11 you can do anything. NSA‘s (U.S. National Security Agency) Cray computers can remotely track people just by knowing the specific EMF waves (evoked potentials from EEGs in the 30-50 Hz, 5 milliwatt range) of a person‘s bioelectric-field. Each person‘s emissions are unique and they can remotely track someone in public. Now if this isn‘t a horrifically frightening thought, I don‘t know what is.
Evoked potentials officially do not exist in physics, but in 1873 a Scotsman, James Clerk Maxwell, discovered that electromagnetic waves have 3 components. He discovered waveforms that exist at a certain number of right-angled rotations away from the electromagnetic field. These are hyper-spacial components, not subject to constraints of time and space.
He claimed that electromagnetic radiation waves were carried by the ether and the ether was disturbed by magnetic lines of force. The hidden component is called only ”potential‘ now and not normally used except for covert hyper-dimensional physics and to manipulate consciousness itself via electromagnetic-waves covering vast areas of the planet.
Approximately one person in 3000 is sensitive to this magnetic waveform component, the telepathic types, (according to a writer called “Majix”), and we are all capable of tuning into this magnetic component by tuning our subconscious to it. Maxwell‘s successors thought potentials were akin to mysticism because they believed fields contain mass which cannot be created from nothing.
This is what potentials are – both literally and mathematically – an accumulation or reservoir of energy, consequently this hasn‘t been taught in mainstream physics.
Subliminal words (in the correct electromagnetic-field and attuned to the human brain) that express human consciousness can enter our minds at a subconscious level. Apparently, our brain activity patterns can be measured and stored on super-computers. If a victim needs to have subliminal thoughts implanted, all that is necessary is to capture that brain activity pattern, (saved on the mega computer) and target or match up that person’s pattern.
The targeted or specified person is then sent low frequency subliminal messages that they actually think are their own thoughts.
The researcher Majix says our brains are so sensitive, that they are like liquid crystal in response to the magnetic component of the earth. We are sensitive to earth’s magnetic changes, changes in the ionospheric cavity and resonate those frequencies ourselves. We are incredibly complex entities, beyond the layperson‘s comprehension. Our brains are indeed a type of bio-cosmic transducer.
Physicists in Russia have conducted in-depth studies on the effects of the mean annual magnetic-activity, electro-magnetic and electro-static fields on human behavior and the physical body. These electromagnetic and electro-static fields can be likened to what is popularly known as biorhythms. These magnetic frequencies can be manipulated from a very simple piece of equipment operated at extremely low power levels; our brain waves can mimic magnetic frequencies.
From half a second to 4 seconds later, the neurons and brain waves are driven exclusively by this device; power levels almost nonexistent.
All one needs is a circularly polarized antenna, aimed up at the ionospheric cavity and they can then manipulate the moods of everyone within a 75 sq. mile area. The body picks up these “new” manipulated waves and begins to correspond immediately. What is known as the “sleep” frequency will make everyone become tired and sleep.
In Let’s Talk MONTAUK, Joyce Murphy presented data that showed that experiments on the 410-420 MHz cycle have been done which could affect the “window frequency to the human consciousness” as a whole. Preston Nichols, previously mentioned herein, learned from his experimentation with his radio equipment that whenever a 410-420 MHz cycle appeared on the air, a psychic‘s mind would be “jammed,” finally tracing the signal to Montauk Point and the red and white radar antenna on the AF Base there.“
In Encounter in the Pleiades by Peter Moon and Preston Nichols, Nichols wrote that,
“Dr. Nicholas Begich, an expert of HAARP, has picked up 435 MHz signals connected to HAARP and that a mind control function is currently being employed. He claims that 400-450 MHz is the window to human consciousness because it is our present day reality’s background frequency.
Tim Rifat wrote in his Microwave Mind Control in the UK article that cellular phones use 435 MHz. The United Kingdom police use 450 MHz exclusively. Dr. Ross Adey used this frequency for CIA behavioral modification experiments. Police have a vast array of antennae to broadcast this frequency all over UK. Adey used 0.75mW/cm2 intensity of pulse modulate microwave at a frequency of 450 MHz, with an ELF modulation to control all aspects of human behavior. 450 MHZ radar modulated at 60 Hz greatly reduced T-lymphocyte activity to kill cultured cancer cells.
A study in the USA of their 60 Hz power lines repeated this.
Through much study and analysis on this varied topic, independent scientists have concluded that HAARP is slicing up the ionosphere — the world-brain — like a microwave knife, producing long tear incisions and destroying the membrane that holds the reservoir of data accumulated of all earth‘s history.
However, there can be hope if we are aware of all the possibilities that exist. A healer called Mr. A claimed to have received “Ancient Wisdom” from the earth‘s protective Magnetic-Ring of energy which stores within it all knowledge since time began. Ruth Montgomery wrote about this healer in Born To Heal. He claimed that if our energy flow is cut off from this magnetic field, (the protective atmospheric magnetic-ring) then the Universal Supply is obstructed and we are no longer in tune with these advantageous frequencies, therefore we begin to get sick.
The Power from this travels in split-seconds around the world and is available to anyone who is capable of receiving and handling it.
The waves from The Ring were automatically translated into words in the healer‘s mind and interpreted as wisdom to diagnose and heal others; this ability coming from the storehouse of knowledge that has been present since the beginning of time. By tapping into this storehouse, he produced instant miracles, knitting broken bones and removing arthritis. A photo was produced that displayed forked lightning emitting from his fingers.
That which we term “reality“ – as understood mentally by our thinking processes – is being altered and changed into different expressions to allow complete control of our personal reality — a complete absolution of that which has been normally operative in a divinely ordained, natural frequency. We must not allow them to succeed because of the global masses‘ ignorance of this very advanced technology.
These elevated scientific methods have been suppressed for many years and only those very few people in power have been privy to this information and obviously used it with no “good intention“ in mind.

This topic is sometimes called the perseverance of the saints;
unconditional eternal security; or ‘once saved, always saved.’
Quotation:
“One of the most widely taught doctrines in the church today is the doctrine of ‘eternal security’. It says, briefly, that if you say a little prayer asking Jesus into your heart, then it obligates God to forgive you for anything you ever do wrong. You can cheat on your wife, rob banks, curse God, worship the Antichrist, massacre innocent civilians, and plunder the world, and it matters not one iota as far as your personal salvation is concerned, because ‘Jesus did it all for you’.” 1
“Jesus brought us the New Covenant and, like all covenants, conditions must be met if the benefits are to be received. Throughout the New Testament, the word ‘if’ is used many times in association with salvation. When the conditions God sets by these ‘ifs’ are not met then an individual can’t expect to receive the rewards, as God never makes idle claims.” 2
About the permanence of salvation:
As described in the salvation overview essay, salvation is of paramount importance to all Christians who believe in heaven and hell. It determines where they will eventually spend eternity. It may also be a high priority topic for those who believe in reincarnation, or in any other form of life after death.
Various faith groups within the Christian church have taught conflicting views about whether a saved person can subsequently lose their salvation:
bullet Some believe, with John Calvin, that “once saved, a person is always saved.” As soon as one is saved, they are secure in the knowledge that they will attain heaven after death, no matter what they do during the rest of their life.
Others believe, with John Wesley, that one can be saved one day and lose one’s salvation later in life, either through an improper thought or deed. Thus, a person’s salvation status is not determined until they actually die.
Still others believe, with the Amish, that salvation is attained through living properly according to strict rules, and that one’s salvation status is not determined until one dies.
There are passages in the Bible that support all viewpoints. There are also surviving writings from church leaders in the emerging Christian movement of the first and second centuries which discuss the permanence and impermanence of salvation.
Modern-day denominations typically interpret some biblical passages literally, and conflicting passages symbolically. That way, they can support their denominational doctrine by quoting selected passages from the Bible.
Bible passages on the permanence of salvation (“Once saved, always saved”):
The Bible contains many passages which appear to say clearly and unambiguously that once a person gains salvation, they can never lose it. Examples are:
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (NIV) The key words in this verse are “whoever believes…shall…have eternal life.” “Whoever” certainly appears to be an totally inclusive term, granting salvation to everyone who believes – irrespective of their behavior. It would seem to apply to persons of both sexes, all races, all nationalities, all sexual orientations, all degrees of ability, etc. The “shall” makes salvation definite and permanent.
John 6:37: “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” Presumably the phrase “him that cometh to me” refers to anyone who is saved. Jesus apparently says that he will never reject a saved individual.
John 6:40: “….every one which seeth the Son and believeth on him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day” This passage appears to imply that every person who is saved will be raised from the dead; none of those who had been saved will be lost. The first phrase is presumably not to be taken literally, as people today cannot visually see Jesus during their life on earth. The NIV translates it as “everyone who looks to the Son.” The Amplified Bible says “everyone who sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him…” This is an enormous expansion of the original Greek and introduces many concepts not present in the Greek original.
John 10:28-29: “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” This is a very strong statement on the permanence of salvation. Jesus appears to state that after he gives an individual eternal life, they shall never perish but continue to have eternal life, even though others might try to interfere.
Romans 8:38-39: “…neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This passage does not directly mention salvation. However, a connection might be inferred: to have the love of God could means that the person is saved and will go to Heaven; to be subject to the wrath of God would mean that they were unsaved and will end up in Hell.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22: “…[God] anointed us. set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” (NIV) This passage apparently states that, once we are saved, God guarantees our salvation; we are secure.
1 John 4:13-17: “By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit…and the one who abides in love abides in God and God abides in him…we may have confidence in the day of judgment…” This passage appears to indicate that once saved, we can have confidence that we will enter heaven.
Bible passages on the impermanence of salvation:
The Bible contains some passages which appear to say clearly and unambiguously that once a person gains salvation, they can lose it. Examples are from the King James Version of the Bible unless the language is so archaic that it is difficult to understand; more modern translations are then used.
Matthew 10:22: “…he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” The implication is that someone who does not stands firm to the end will not be saved. Some theologians dismiss this interpretation; they believe that a person who does not stand firm never was saved in the first place; thus all that are truly saved will continue in that state.
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that that everyone who believes in him might not perish, but may have eternal life.” (NAB) The NIV translation of this verse (described above) implies that everyone who believes “shall” have eternal life. The Amplified Bible agrees. But other translations use alternative words: “should,” “may,” or “might.” These latter version of the Christian Scriptures (New Testament) imply that saved persons may have eternal life or possibly may perish. Presumably they could lose their salvation by their actions.
This is superb example of how Bible translators can select words which match their own theological belief systems. The NAB translation is used extensively by Roman Catholics who believe that an individual can lose their salvation may times during their lifetime, and frequently regain it by sincerely participating in church sacraments. Those conservative Christians who believe that one cannot lose ones salvation frequently use the NIV translation.
John 15:6: “If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up , thrown into the fire and burned.” (NIV) A person who “does not remain” in Jesus is apparently a saved person whose behavior or thoughts have become unacceptable. Throwing the formerly saved person into the fire and burning them is an obvious reference to Hell.
1 Corinthians 15-2: “By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.” Paul apparently believes that a person is only saved if they continue to believe in the gospel. If they lose faith in the gospel, presumably they lose their salvation. Some conservative theologians believe that this verse also refers to those who were not really initially saved.
Galatians 6:8-9: “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in going good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (NIV) This passage appears to make salvation dependent on an individual continually working towards their goal of attaining eternal life. If a person gives up prematurely, then they would lose their salvation.
2 Timothy 2:12: “If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us.” Elsewhere in the Bible a number of verses refer to saved persons reigning with Jesus. So, the “we” in this passage apparently means saved individuals. But if we “deny and disown and reject” (Amplified Bible) Jesus, then he will do the same to us, and presumably terminate our salvation.
Hebrews 6:4-6: “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the son of God afresh and put him to an open shame.” The first two verses define precisely an individual who had being saved and was receiving the benefits of salvation. The last verse states clearly that a person is quite capable of falling away from the faith…and if they do so, that it is impossible for their salvation to be renewed.
Christians who believe that a person can never lose their salvation may interpret this passage as meaning:
That they were never true believers in the first place, and thus were never initially saved, or
That Verse 6 says that a saved person who rejected Jesus and denied the Christian faith would never be able to repent in the future. If they could never repent, then they could never be saved again. However, it is not clear why they could not repent a second time. If they repented once, there does not seem to be any obvious reason why they could not repeat the process at a later time.
This passage has caused some theologians to doubt that Hebrews was written by an apostle. Some church leaders have been convinced to “refuse the right of lapsed believers to be reinstated in the church…” 1
Hebrews 10:26: “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.” The early Christians universally believed that this passage referred to persons who had been saved, had continued to sin, and had thereby lost their salvation. Some present-day theologians teach that this verse refers only to the unsaved.
2 Peter 2:20-21: “For if after they have escaped the pollution’s of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered onto them.” The first verse appears to refer to persons who have turned away from the corruption of the world, have been saved, and later returned entangled in the world. The implication is that these people will be more viciously treated after death by God’s wrath than those people who were never saved.
Losing one’s salvation through forbidden behaviors:
Three verses from the Christian Scriptures seem to imply that certain behaviors will cancel a person’s salvation. Three passages declare absolutely that all persons who perform certain behaviors will not “inherit the kingdom of God”. These verses seem to be absolute. That is, they apply to everyone, even to those who have been previously saved:
bullet 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.”(ASV)
St. Paul appears to state that some members of the church at Corinth were once following some of the behaviors listed and would thus not inherit the kingdom of God. But after they were saved, they changed their behavior. But the passage does seem to state unambiguously that all individuals who commit one of the forbidden sins after having been saved will go to hell.
There are 11 activities listed here that can prevent an individual from going to heaven. We have studied these verses as they appear in 24 English versions of the Bible and found some curious results:
There is little agreement on the first activity listed in Verse 9: 7 versions translated it as unrighteous; 6 as wrongdoers or people who do wrong; 3 as wicked, 3 as unjust; 2 as evil-doers or evil people. Finally, two translations seem to refer to the previous passage which discusses the evil of believers going to judges outside the Christian community to settle problems. Since 100% of the human race does wrong or some evil sometime during their life, many translations would imply that we are all doomed.
All translations condemn:
adulterers [two persons engaging in sexual intercourse while one or both is married] using terms like adultery, unfaithful in marriage
criminal activity by robbers, extortioners, swindlers, cheaters, thieves
idolaters [people who worship idols]
drunkards
thieves, using terms steal, thieves, and cheats
greedy persons, described as covetous, greedy, avaricious, and selfish
slanderers, described as revilers, slanderers, lie about others, abusive, etc.
The translators were divided on one activity: some implied fornication [sexual intercourse outside of marriage] using such terms as: fornicators, sin sexually, sexually immoral, and profligates. Others used more general terms such as immoral and impure which do not necessarily relate to sexual activity.
The remaining two activities in the body of Verse 9 have been variously translated in different versions of the Bible as:
effeminate which covers a wide range of male behavior such as being unmanly, lacking virility, decadent, excessively soft or gentle.
homosexuals, described as men who have sexual relations with other men, abusers of themselves with men, sodomites and perverts. Lesbians do not appear to be included in this condemnation, because the verse refers only to males.
male prostitutes, also described as men kept for unnatural purposes. It is not clear whether the term “male prostitutes” is restricted to homosexual hookers or may also include men who are heterosexual prostitutes.
bullet catamites, also described as boy prostitutes. This is a young male who is kept as a sexual partner of an adult male. Often, he would be a slave with no freedom to avoid sexual acts perpetrated by his owner.
The original Greek text describes the second of the two behaviors as malakoi arsenokoitai. Malakoi means soft; the meaning of arsenokoitai has been lost. The phrase was once used to refer to a male temple prostitute. Some sources in the early Church interpreted the phrase as referring to people of soft morals; i.e. unethical. That may well be the correct meaning, because presumably people from that era would have still known the meaning of the word arsenokoitai. At the time of Martin Luther, it was interpreted as referring to masturbation. More recently, it has been translated as referring to homosexuals. Each translator seem to take whatever activity that their faith group particularly disapproves of at the time and uses it in this verse.
The correct translation for the first of the two behaviors is most likely to be catamites, a boy or young male who engaged in sexual activities with men. A footnote to the New American Bible reads:
“The Greek word translated as “boy prostitutes” [in 1 Cor. 6:9] designated catamites, i.e. boys or young men who were kept for purposes of prostitution, a practice not uncommon in the Greco-Roman world….The term translated “practicing homosexuals” refers to adult males who indulged in homosexual practices with such boys.” 2
It would appear that the best guess translation for these two behaviors might be: “male child abusers and the boys that they rape”. Unfortunately, such a phrase would be unacceptable to most denominations, because
At 9 words, the resultant phrase would be too lengthy; translators prefer short descriptions
it would show that St. Paul believed that innocent young slaves and other children would be condemned to hell for activities which were outside their control. This would be fundamentally unjust, and difficult for may Christians to accept today. Victimizing the victim is unacceptable to most people.
many conservative faith groups consider consensual sex between committed same-sex adults to be almost as serious a personal sin as the raping of children. By deviating from the Greek text and adopting the more inclusive English word “homosexual”, they can condemn these individuals.
We agree with the Roman Catholic translators that St. Paul is probably condemning that small minority of male adults who are child rapists and the male children that they sexually abuse. This criminal behavior is not connected in any way with homosexual activity with a fellow adult within a loving, committed relationship.
Galatians 5:19-20: “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are (these): fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties, envyings, drunkenness, revelings, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (ASV)
The first sin, fornication, will cause most people to lose their salvation. The average age at which a youth in North America becomes sexually active is 16, whereas the average age at first marriage is over 25. This provides an opportunity for fornication which typically lasts for about a decade. Surveys show that in excess of 90% of young adults do not remain celibate before marriage. Add to this the 25 to 40% of married couples who engage in extra-marital sex, and just about the entire population is doomed to hell after death. And this does not take into account any of the other, very common sins of envy, jealousy, strife which are near universally expressed sometimes during each person’s life.
The Christian church has traditionally added suicide to these lists of behaviors, although there appears to be little justification for this move.
Ephesians 5:5-6: “For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person…has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God…God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.” (NIV)
This appears to be another blanket condemnation of people who will be denied access to heaven because of their conduct. No exception appears to be made for saved persons. “No…person” would seem to mean “no…person.” God’s wrath would imply permanent residence in Hell.
Losing one’s salvation by committing the unforgivable sin:
Three passages in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke discusses a unique class of sin which God will not forgive. Committing this sin would presumably prevent a person from being saved or would cancel the salvation of a believer. Unfortunately, there is no consensus about what the unforgivable sin is.
