Top 10 Things I Hate About Phoenix (originally posted on 3-5-2006)

10. The Arizona Cardinals. A pathetic excuse for a football team. The Arena football team The Rattlers or even Arizona State University Sun Devils could beat this NFL team.

9. Houses. Houses go up so fast because of the growth, most of them look the same in the same area, no originality in architectural design/art. And they build them really really close.

8. 90% of people are not native and they seem to be rude. Like if you ask “How are you?” they look at you funny.

7. Allergenic and asthmatic problems. People who move here seem to have more allergy and asthma problems. Number one probably no rain to wash away pollutions and pollens and number two I think mixing some non-ingeneous plants, messes with the atmosphere. Pinetrees, bermuda grass and palm trees are everywhere and not native!

6. No rain-Watching the news sometimes big green and yellow and red areas are shown on radar maps like a major storm is coming, and as you watch the radar map, it just seems to fizzle out. Like there’s a big dry spot here or asphalt is the problem or something. Outlining suburbs may get hithard, but as it reaches Phoenix nothing. As of the date I wrote this, we’re on a major dry spell, a record, like 130 days of no rain. And we only average 6 inches of annual rainfall.

5. Sheriff Joe Arpaio-Phoenix is in Maricopa County, and this guy the head sheriff is about fame and money if you ask me. And there are a lot of things that go on with him and his people that aren’t good. Very much conspiracies.

4. People who live here for a year plus and refuse to learn English. “No ingles” like we have to speak Spanish to them. I have Hispanic friends and have no problem with them, not racist. And do know Spanish, but please learn English, English is widely spoken here, this ain’t Mexico.

3. Public transportation. Phoenix is the 5th largest city in Phoenix, however buses stop at 11pm on weekdays and 8-9pm on weekends. And buses only run ever 30 minutes to an hour. You need a car in Phoenix.

2. Drivers: Phoenix really does have the dumbest drivers. We need cameras at lights for redlight runners, all over the place. To most Phoenix drivers, yellow lights mean to slam on your breaks, and redlights mean to speed through intersection. No one seems to know what turn signals are anymore either.

1. Summers: Way too hot and dry. 110 degrees Farenheit is suicide weather.

I could probably make a longer list. There isn’t a whole lot keeping me in Phoenix. Family might be it.
